"I participate in the TriAdventure because I can. I often get caught up in the day-to-day grind, and a dose of reality about other people, their families, and entire communities in Africa that are struggling with war, poverty and the HIV/AIDS pandemic reminds me of what matters most. When not enough is being done by the world to assist a continent of people, I can't sit back and do nothing. Plus, I'm hard pressed to think of a better way to help by participating in athletic challenges with other like-minded people.
WE HAD SO MUCH FUN LAST YEAR!"

General Support Job Description

Beyond volunteering for event crew we do need a pool of volunteers to help us achieve and hopefully exceed our goals and make The TriAdventure a resounding success. Therefore, we welcome those interested in helping with the miriad of things that surface in preparing for and staging this type of event. There are three concrete areas where we need assistance:

Distribute information (posters, postcards) in community centres, schools, gyms and pools to help recruit participants (April/May).

Organize arrival celebrations (setting up BBQ, preparing food, organizing signs and music).

Lifeguards on Friday for the afternoon swim event at Camp Wahanowin in Orillia, Ontario.

Must be available to attend all three days of the event

Drivers license preferred, navigation skills an asset

Must be able to assist in lifting and/or carrying bins and bikes (15 to 40 pounds)

Responsible for assisting with setting up campsite, organizing snacks and meals

Responsible for cheering and motivating TriAdventurers enroute

A positive can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in is a must

Lifeguard and/or first aid skills are an asset

The number of crew is scaled to the number of registered participants. If we are able to recruit more participants we will need more crew for the event. In anticipation of signing up our maximum of 40 participants, we are compiling a list for potential crew positions. If you would like to be on our list please send an email.
